4 Fun Activities That Visitors To Boston Can Indulge In

When most people are planning to visit cities such as Boston for their holiday, they often concentrate on visiting some of the typical tourist destinations. However, the truth is that dotted around the city, there are many areas that offer you the opportunity to have a bit of fun without having to spend a lot of money or dealing with a large number of tourists. Most of these destinations are therefore ideal for someone who might not want to spend a lot of money or time on a tourist destination, but who still wants to get excellent value for money. These include:

Island hopping

Island hopping

If you love scenery and visiting new places, you can visit some of the 34 islands that are in the region. The good thing about Boston is that if you want to, you can hire your own boat cheaply, and visit any of the islands you want on your own schedule. You can also use one of the ferry services that are available to get it done as well.

Ride a bike or toss a disc

The Charles River Basin was once a mucky marsh, but it has since been transformed into the city’s celebrated urban greenscape. You can do all sorts of things here, including simply reading a book and enjoying the sun while at it. You can also play ball with your loved ones or ride a bike around the area. One thing you can be sure of is that at the end of the day, you will be relaxed due to the combination of the excellent scenery and the wide array of relaxing activities you can take part in.

Indulge in the architecture

One of the best things about visiting Boston is that if you are creative enough, you can actually have a lot of fun without having to spend a dime. Simply walking around the city will give you the opportunity to indulge in some of the best architecture the country has to offer. You could even follow the red brick road between Bunker Hill and the Boston Common, where you will get to experience a number of sites that have a lot of relevance in history. At the end of the day, you will get a sense as to why Boston is referred to as the cradle of liberty.

Visit some of the bookstores

If you are a bibliophile, Harvard Square is one of the places you should definitely visit when you come to Boston. It is considered to have the richest selection of bookstores in the country, which is surprising when you consider that the area is so small. You should be careful, however, since you may end up losing yourself in the literature if you are not careful.

As you can see, there is a lot that you can do in Boston without having to visit some of the more ‘typical’ tourist destinations. If you are planning a trip here, you should consider hiring a car service to get around. This is not only cheaper than it is in many parts of the world, but is also hugely convenient as well.
