For a few dollars, you can visit the Public Garden where you can take a relaxing ride on the Swan Boats that are a unique and popular Boston tradition created by Robert over 120 years ago. The 15-minute Swan Boat ride will take you through the garden’s green lagoon and is a family friendly event that you will enjoy on a budget.

• Boston Freedom Trail

Walk the 2.5-mile Boston Freedom Trail that will lead you to sites that teach you about the American Revolution. You will visit 16 historically significant sites that include the Paul Revere House, the USS Constitution and the site of the Boston Massacre. You can even visit the Massachusetts State House that is home to the governor’s offices and the state legislature. The entire Freedom Trail, including the sites, is free and you can enjoy the educational tour without spending any money.
